about us
As Harlem-based creatives and coaches, Tanya D. Jones and Sedrick Rice shared a deep desire to use their gifts for something bigger to uplift and empower.
Harlem became the natural home for this vision.
They dreamed of a way to merge storytelling with music to help unlock memory, emotion, and creativity. When people tell their stories in a supportive space, an awakening happens not just for the storyteller, but for everyone listening.
The first show premiered on January 31, 2024 to a full house at Plowshares Coffee Roasters on Amsterdam Avenue and 126th Street. For a full year, the team did not charge a fee for entry to encourage all residents to attend.
In 2025, Can We Kick It is in talks with non-profits and retail partners to continue the growing series for the residents of Harlem.
